IF I HAD €1.000.000...

If I had €1.000.000, I'd buy an enormous house with a huge swimming-pool so that I could invite all the class. Also, I'd pay for all the clothes, books, games, etc. that I want. In order to keep on earning money, I would run my own business. Even though if I ran out of money, I could make more of it.

For my mum, I'd get an expensive car because she's always complaining about hers. For my dad, I'd pay for a doctor that could heal my father's physic disease. Finally, I'd buy all the clothes my sister wanted.

I would travel around the world with my friends, paying for everything. I would donate the rest of the money to a charity that helps people with cancer.

CUTS ON EDUCATION

Cuts on education is a serious problem. It's caused by the global crisis that we are suffering. The government of Spain has decided to cut the budget for education instead of cuttings on less necessary things, like the budget for the Chucrch, which is excessively high. Students and teachers have less resources in class and can't do many activities.

We're organising a day of action to bring people's attention to this problem. There are going to be 2 groups. The first group is going to make some banners. The second group is going to go on a march against cuts in education in town. At the moment, we're about 500 people participating in this project!

The day of action will take place on Thursday 29th March, coinciding with the general strike. Group 1 will make the banners at 10 o'clock in Torre Roja. Group 2 will meet outside Atrium at 5 o'clock.

CHANGES

I changed quite a lot in the past five years. I look different, I do different things and I have different opinions.

I didn't use to hold gel on my hair five years ago, but now I usually wear spiky hair. I used to have a casual and a bit scruffy look, now I look trendy, but I still wear casual clothes. Nowadays I wear slim-fit jeans; five years ago I used to wear baggy trousers.

Five years ago, I didn't go to Torre Roja. I was at primary school, in Amat Targa. My favourite subject was PE. Now, I prefer Maths. We didn't use to get much homework at primary, but now we get lots!

When I had school, I used to do my homework and watch TV, but now I surf the net. At weekends, I usually meet my friends and have dinner in fast-food restaurants, but five years ago I could only hang out with my friends until 9 P.M.

I think my life is better now than it was five years ago. School is more difficult, I'm more independent and I've got more friends.

MY TOWN

I live in Viladecans, a small city near Barcelona. 50 years ago the town was very different.
It was much smaller and all the buildings were old. There weren't any schools or cinemas or shopping centres. The main street was the Rambla. Now there are lots of buildings to live or to buy.

Transport now is much better. Nowadays there are buses and trains and in the future we'll have the underground. 50 years ago, there were only some yellow buses that drove you to Plaza España, and not to other places.

There wasn't any social life. There were no discos or pubs, and you only could hang out with your friends in the fields or in a park called Pajaritos Park. You could go to the flea market.

In my opinion, I prefer my life. I think life 50 years ago was harder than now, and now we have more possibilities.

My image
I think I look trendy. I usually wear shorts and a T-shirt when it's hot, and I usually wear jeans and a jumper when it's cold. When I have P.E. lessons at school I wear a tracksuit and sporty trainers. On special occasions, like weddings or communions, I wear a shirt and a pair of trousers. I normally wear spiky hair.

Three things that I love
I love going to the cinema to watch a movie. I like it because the seats are very comfortable and the moment when the film starts is very exciting. The second thing I love is having dinner with my friends in places like McDonald's or Telepizza. We really like this kind of food, but we know it's a bit unhealthy. When we finish eating, we stay chatting for a long time. The third thing I like is my netbook. It's very useful for me, and I can take it with me wherever. My favourite use of my netbook is watching chapters of my favourite TV series.

Three things that I hate
I hate gossiping programmes on TV. They’re very stressful. The journalists are always shouting to each other. My mother used to watch them, but because of her job, now she watches them once in a blue moon. The second thing I dislike is to study. It’s absolutely boring. Fortunately, I have a very good memory and I can’t keep things on my mind faster than other people. I think I’m lucky. Finally, the third thing I hate is lazy people.
